MINIMALIST PENTHOUSE in VANCOUVER

Erica James designed this minimalist and masculine apartment in downtown Vancouver. The apartment has a sexy vibe with clean lines, luxurious finishes, curated art and cutting-edge technology, and a monochromatic layout.
"This project was a wonderful chance to explore a different style beyond our usual transitional design elements," says Erica James of the design process for the apartment, which features high ceilings and large windows. “We opted for a modern monochromatic color scheme throughout the penthouse to evoke a timeless ambiance,” says Erica. “This choice creates a harmonious and calming atmosphere that complements the sleek lines and minimalist design of the space. It allows the view to shine through. To enhance the masculine effect, we used touches of leather”.
Indeed, the dining area features a leather-wrapped Apparatus light fixture and sharp leather straps and buckles on the chairs.
'I GOT INSPIRATION FROM MY TRIP TO MILAN'
“I drew a lot of inspiration from a trip to Milan,” remembers Erica. “I visited some super high end showrooms that had very modern unique design features. They used a lot of dark oak, clean lines, and large glass dividers which inspired the office doors. I always wanted to use one of Art & Looms custom rugs which has beautiful organic curves to contrast a lot of the angles we used throughout. Since the rug is custom, it flows perfectly into the living room and gives us more freedom with the custom angular sofa and furniture layout”.

VANCOUVER’DAKİ MİNİMALİST PENTHOUSE
Vancouver şehir merkezinde yer alan minimalist ve maskülen stile sahip daire Erica James tasarımı. Temiz çizgileri, lüks kaplamaları, iyi bir şekilde seçilmiş sanat eserleri ve teknolojisiyle seksi bir ambiyansı olan dairenin tek renkli bir düzeni var.
Yüksek tavanları ve geniş pencereleriyle öne çıkan dairenin tasarım sürecine dair Erica James, “Bu proje alışılmış tasarım unsurlarımızın ötesinde farklı bir tarzı keşfetmek için harika bir fırsattı” diyor. “Zamansız bir ambiyans uyandırmak için çatı katı boyunca modern tek renkli bir renk düzeni tercih ettik. Bu seçim, mekanın şık çizgilerini ve minimalist tasarımını tamamlayan uyumlu ve sakinleştirici bir atmosfer yaratıyor. Manzaranın ışıldamasını sağlıyor. Maskülen etkiyi artırmak için ise deri dokunuşları kullandık”.
Nitekim yemek alanında deriyle sarılmış Apparatus aydınlatma armatürü ve sandalyelerde keskin deri kayış ve tokalar bulunuyor.
‘MİLANO SEYAHATİMDEN İLAHM ALDIM’
“Milano'ya yaptığım seyahatten çok ilham aldım” diye hatırlıyor Erica. “Çok modern ve benzersiz tasarım özelliklerine sahip bazı üst düzey showroomları ziyaret ettim. Çok sayıda koyu meşe, temiz çizgiler ve ofis kapılarına ilham veren büyük cam bölücüler kullanıyorlardı. Her zaman Art & Looms'un özel halılarından birini kullanmak istemiştim. Bu halı, kullandığımız açıların çoğuyla kontrast oluşturacak şekilde organik kıvrımlara sahip. Halı özel olduğu için oturma odasında mükemmel bir şekilde aktı. Köşeli kanepe ve mobilya düzeni ile birlikte daha fazla özgürlük sağladı”.

- Mutfak: Tezgah tabureleri Thomas Hayes. Döşeme İtalya'dan Listone Giordano. Tüm metal işleri (mutfak kolları, ofis muhafazası, merdiven) Iron & Ash tarafından yapılmış.
